Mexican Arts and Crafts WPA era 12” scenic plaque. A beautifully designed San Jose Workshops Mexicana scene picturing a young man with his chickens in a charming desert scene. On buff clay, signed with a Maquey craftmark on the front. In excellent condition, with no cracks, chips or repairs. The rich brown surround glaze is enhanced by the bright Mission colors. Made and glazed by hand it shows slight imperfections as is common with a hand crafted piece.
