Remarkable one-of-a-kind artifact from the beloved Brayton Laguna Pottery. It's a 17" diameter charger with a cobalt rim and a Mexicana theme. The holder is original to the piece. This exact piece was on exhibit at the California Heritage Exhibit and is featured in the Monterey Furniture Book by Schiffer Publishing as well as the book “California Revival” It is dated via pencil on back "1939" as well as the Brayton signature etched in the clay. Provenance and impeccable vintage California credentials.
Condition is excellent with no cracks, chips, or repairs. Thin glaze shows on portions of rim which is entirely factory and part of the look of these unique pieces. The background creamy yellow also shows some crazing which is part of the "look" of the design.
