Just marked down! Set of San Jose Tile Bookends with decorative scenes. This is the smaller of two sizes make by the WPA era pottery workshops in San Antonio, Texas. One green bookend with women holding water jugs. One blue bookend with man riding donkey depicting cactus and roosters. Bookends measure 5 1 1/2 " each and the price is for the pair. Unsigned, but known designs and form as shown in the excellent San Jose book "Colors on Clay" by Susan Toomey Frost. Chips on blue piece as shown in the picture.
